Papadopoulou uses a wide range of materials, with her late focus being on sewn fabric and paper. Through image and practice, and over the years, these two media function as direct carriers of the politics of restriction and exclusion applied to the female body in her works. She belongs to the generation of artists who bring traditional female handicrafts to attention and reconstruct their status and significance in art history.
